How To Apply For A Kenya Visa
Kenya now requires an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for most travellers, which replaces the previous visa requirement. To obtain an ETA, travellers need to apply online at https://www.etakenya.go.ke/en/evisa.html at least 72 hours before travel. Key requirements include a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity remaining), a recent passport-sized photo, and proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host information).
Safari Visa Requirements
- Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA): Kenya has transitioned to an ETA system, requiring most travellers to obtain an ETA before travel.
- Online Application: The ETA application is done online through the official https://www.etakenya.go.ke/en/evisa.html portal.
- Valid Passport: A passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay is required.
- Passport Photograph: A recent passport-sized photograph is needed.
- Proof of Accommodation: This can be a hotel booking or details of where you will be staying, including the name, address, and contact information of your host.
- Travel Itinerary: A copy of your round-trip tickets or other travel plans is also required.
- Payment: The ETA fee needs to be paid online during the application process.
Important Notes:
- No Visa on Arrival: Kenya no longer issues visas on arrival.
- ETA Processing Time: The ETA application should be submitted at least 72 hours before travel.
